Fraction collectors are essential in the lab. They separate and collect specific components of a sample mixture during chromatography, streamlining sample prep and analysis processes. At Teledyne LABS, we've built durability and reliability into all three of our collectors: the Foxy® R1, R2, and R2 High Flow. Designed for accuracy and speed, these tools represent state-of-the-art functionality and innovation.

Foxy R1 Fraction Collector

Foxy® R1 Fraction Collector

The one-rack Foxy R1 collector can distribute fractions into 96 well microplates, standard tube sizes, and bottles. For essentially unlimited volumes, funnel racks can direct fluids to any collection vessel or downstream process. Our Foxy R1 is ideal for smaller-scale applications, offering flexibility and the capacity for flow rates to 25 mL/minute.

Foxy R2 Fraction Collector

Foxy® R2 and Foxy® R2 High Flow Fraction Collectors

The two-rack Foxy R2 collector can distribute fractions into 96 well microplates, standard tube sizes, and bottles. For unlimited volumes, funnel racks can direct fluids to any collection vessel or downstream process. The Foxy R2 uses two racks with radio frequency identification (RFID) to automatically detect collection rack s for easy setup. The Foxy R2 is efficient for larger-scale separations and has the capacity for flow rates up to 125 mL/minute.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a fraction collector?

A fraction collector contains rows of test tubes or bottles that move through a pre-programmed, sequential system to collect samples from a chromatography system or other instrument. It also can be programmed for the distinct collection of peaks of specific proteins in fraction collection for preparative chromatography.

What does a fraction collector do in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)?

In HPLC as in all chromatography, a compound is separated out into its various components. This collection of individual components is divided out into a series of test tubes using a fraction collector.

What is a chromatography fraction?

A chromatography fraction is one of the elements found in a compound being separated out into its various components, or fractions. A fraction collector catches each of these components in separate test tubes or bottles.
