Why sample mixing?
Used oil samples typically contain particulate material that can settle in a sample tube prior to analysis; this can lead to generation of non‑representative data. The Oils 7400 automation has been designed to resolve this problem.
Prior to analytical measurement, a stirring paddle
mounted next to the sample probe efficiently mixes
each sample and, with the sample probe, is cleaned
at the rinse station. Sample mixing is configurable,
via the dashboard software, to meet the challenge
of more viscous oil samples.
Accurate and fast
Each sample is automatically homogenized prior to analysis. While the current sample is drawn, the next sample is being stirred to increase efficiency and save time. Faster and smoother XYZ movement saves up to 2 seconds per sample compared to previous generation oils automation. Analyze 2 samples per minute with the ASXPRESS PLUS rapid sample introduction for ASTM 5185 and ASTM 6130 testing.
Maintain sample integrity
An integrated drip cup travels with the sample probe and stirring paddle to capture any sample droplets, eliminating cross contamination while moving over the sample tubes. The dual port rinse station helps minimize analyte carryover and cross contamination.
Quickly switch samples
Two discrete liquid flow paths
and a dual port rinse station
allow the user to switch
between oils and coolants
testing on demand in as little
as 5 minutes. The sliding rinse station controls the two peristaltic pumps. For oils testing, the probe and stirrer are rinsed in ports fed with kerosene or white spirit. For coolants testing, the second peristaltic pump delivers an appropriate rinse agent such as water or nitric acid. By changing the sample probe, stirring paddle and ICP glassware, the analyst can quickly switch from oils testing to coolants testing.
Filtered probe
The included stainless steel filtered probe helps filter out large particles, preserving the lifetime of downstream components. The material is robust and easy to clean.
